5 Weeks Old

Tate is 5 weeks old today. It used to bug me when I would ask someone how old their baby was and they would say, "17 weeks." Why not just say 4 months and a week. I have now come to realize that the whole "4 weeks in a month" conversion factor is a bit skewed. Tate is 5 weeks but he technically turned a month old 4 days ago. Anyway, come December 23rd, if wish Tate a happy 2-month birthday, I will likely admonish you by stating that Tate is in fact 8 weeks and 6 days old. So there. At his doctor's appointment today, Tate weighed in at 10 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces (89th percentile). He was 21 3/4 inches long (59%) and his head size was in the 80% bracket. In short, he is a stout little bugger with a large dome, much like his father. The doctor said that he is doing great! My brother started a blog where he is posting his pictures. It's great Check it out here.
Big head, even bigger heart.

there really arent a whole lot of things that i cant get here. they have most american products and its really just is missing people (and places) that makes being here hard. but as far as things that can be shipped the first two things that immediately popped into my mind were funfetti (they dont have the cake...which i can deal with by putting sprinkles in regular cake mix, but even if i did that they still dont have rainbow chip frosting), and theres been a few times when ive thought that it would be fun to make with some girls. the other thing is new music. theres only one radio station and it covers all generas and all decades so there isnt a lot of opportunity for new music. some people here have made cds for me but ive had the same five cds for the past few months so i'm a little tired of them.
military mail is pretty slow, it takes about a week and a half for a normal letter to get here, but i'm not sure about packages. so i wouldnt be upset if you wanted to wait until after the holiday season. either way i really appreciate the thought, its super fun getting packages (and letters). thanks for thinking of me.
