We Made It!!
So after an amazing time in Arizona, we made it back to California, with only a few bumps along the way. We left The Mission at 3:30 a.m. and headed to the airport where we were dropped off be John and Ruth Bloom. Our original flight was supposed to leave at 6:09 a.m. and arrive in Denver at 7:30 a.m. We were really excited to be almost boarding our flight to Denver, because we thought that we may just miss the big storm. We were about to board our flight when they called our names over the loud speaker and informed us that we had been kicked (we paid the least for our tickets and they had a weight restriction because of the weather) off of our flight and would be on the next flight that left at 10:35 a.m. This was a little frustrating as we were hoping to miss the storm and knew that we would most likely be stuck in Denver if we ever made it there. Around 9:00 a.m. I walked up to check in for our 10:35 flight only to find out that it had been canceled due to weather. We thought about driving home but renting a car would have been over $600.00! Anyways I asked the ticket agent if there was any other options for us. She ended up checking with the U.S. Airlines agent to see if the could fit us on one of their flights. We were able to get on their flight that left at 9:45 a.m. into Phoenix. We found out that the 6:09 a.m. flight to Denver that we were booted from ended up having to emergency land in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We were so thankful that we weren't on that flight. From Phoenix we left at 2:11 for San Jose, arriving at around 3 pm. The flight went great!
Needless to say, we were very excited to be home. The trip was really good and we will put some video footage online shortly.
